The big day is here. I wake with my stomach in a knot. I'm twitchy and fidgety all morning as the anticipation builds.
Moments of dread and panic as I think about the worst case scenario.
Then logic kicks in and I tell myself that it just won't happen. 14:30h. Finally arrives. The internet connection is poor so I can't get a picture. Hail showers outside mean our satellite reception isn't good. After a few minutes I catch the words 'Michael Owen' and hear lots of very loud cheers, I'm up on my feet dancing around the room. Jane gives me a 'grow up man' look. It's 1-0 in the Tyne-Weir derby and only four minutes have been played. It could be a long painful afternoon for the Mackems. We cruise to a 2-0 victory. Early morning fears are forgotten it was never going to happen, they really are rubbish and always will be.
I treated Jane just before we moved here to her second visit to St James' Park. For the Tyne-Weir derby, we won that one 2-0 too. I think she realised how lucky she was. I spoil that woman.

This is 'Tash' her kittens are doing well. She doesn't weigh a lot but she's eating well. She's a good mother.

In the evening we watched 'The Savages'. Directed by Tamara Jenkins. With Laura Linney, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Philip Bosco. A brother and sister suddenly have the responsibility of their elderly father suffering from dementia. Well made, good acting etc. Just not my sort of film.
Later I watched 'Batman Begins'. Directed by Christopher Nolan. Starring Christian Bale, Michael Caine and Liam Neeson. This is more like it. How Bruce Wayne becomes Batman. Never thought about how it all started? Neither had I. This film will fill those gaps you have in your Batman knowledge. Essential viewing for everyone on the planet I would think ...
