December 2007
Written by Geoff Forster
December was another fantastic month. We did have rain just before Christmas but again it was welcome.
We made trips to Gibraltar and Ronda for Christmas shopping.
We spent a beautiful sunny day in San Luis de Sabinillas.
We visited the donkeys daily with seed and walked them in the campo so they can eat the wild grasses and flowers. They are amazing animals. Domingo in particular is very affectionate.
We spent Christmas with friends. We cooked Benarrabá pork and had a feast. We also had a hind leg from an acorn fed black footed pig - (jamón ibérico de bellota) which lasted over a month and we ate slice after slice of this special local but world renowned delicacy.
A few items from Gibraltar - Christmas crackers, pudding and cake added some more traditional English touches to our festivities. After Eight mints and mince pies ... time to do some more walking.
