Friday 31st October 2008 - Rain - More Rain - Sexy Brujas
06:00 - It's been raining all night.
07:00 - Jane's on her way to Gibraltar. I start work.
It rains all day. Steady and quite heavy. A bucket outside has filled. I guess we're getting between 2-3cm an hour.
I spend a lot of the day setting up and playing with a local XAMPP server, PHP and MYSQL on my notebook. I get it running and now can run database based software, if the internet connection goes down.
Sorry, no photos of the hillsides today, we're living in the clouds.
Jane took these of Amelia's kittens a couple of days ago, when the sun was shining.
We saw the weather forecast was for rain and moved two bales of straw into our 'entrada' to keep it dry. The kittens love playing and sleeping on it.

21:15 - Jane's back a little later tonight, due to the weather and an Easyjet plane struggling to take off. It had a couple of goes then gave up. A BA flight took off at the first attempt a couple of minutes later. Poor Jane had to stand at the runway watching the drama in the rain. For those who don't know Gibraltar you must cross the runway to get to the frontier. A tunnel is due to be built in a few years.
The bad weather also slowed her down. Visibility was poor and in places there was standing water on the road.
Jane called into Café Bar Guayácan to drop of some perfume for Yolanda. It's the prize for the sexy bruja competition. A 'Bruga' is a witch. There's a Halloween party in the bar tonight. Unfortunately work tomorrow means we'll be in bed long before it starts.
Yolanda has also started doing a 'Supa Hora Feliz' from 23:30 to 01:00 on every Friday and Saturday evening. Shorts including mixers are 2.50€ which is around £2.00. The party and happy hour were Jane's idea so it's a shame she can't go.
We eat dinner - lamb stew.
Then we start watching 'The Day After Tomorrow' starring Dennis Quaid. A climatology disaster movie. We don't get too far before the day catches up with Jane.
I put headphones in and watched 'Star Wars - The Clone Wars' a really well made cartoon set between Star Wars 2 & 3. Probably one of the best animations done so far. The 3-D rendering and scenery is excellent. So is the characters movement. Only the human faces look too angular.
