A beautiful day.
We decide to go to the coast.
We drive to San Luis de Sabinillas.
Jane goes shopping while I have a stroll on the beach tentatively dipping my toes into the Mediterranean.
The beach was deserted except for one lady walking along the tide line. A beautiful warm Saturday ... where was everybody?
We drove along the coast road to Estepona. Unfortunately the road along the sea front was closed for works. So we parked near the marina.

We were going to try to find a way around the works, but not knowing where exactly the road was being excavated, we decided that we'd just picked the wrong day for our visit and instead took the inland road to Casares. The Sierra Bermeja often has a reddish tint in bright sunlight.
I usually try to avoid wires, roads, pylons etc when framing photographs. I've been quite pleased with a couple of road shots recently. I like this one too. The A-7 Peage (Toll Road) is just inland of the N-340. It's bridges span valleys and a number of tunnels are cut through ridges which means it is straighter and faster.
We drove to Casares, stopping at a mirador to take these photographs of the spectacular mountain pueblo.

We stopped at a venta for coffee. I took this photograph of Jimena de la Frontera. I took a similar shot from the Guadiaro valley two days ago on March 6th. This one is from an even greater distance as we were near the Sierra Crestellina and looking across both the Genal and Guadiaro valleys.
The Sierra de Crestellina.
We drove up to Benarrabá. I took this of a small ruin.
We went to Cafe Bar Guayácan for coffees and tapas. Then I listened to the football, another loss, we're in a dangerous free fall towards relegation. Jane fed the donkeys.
Later we watched 'My Blueberry Nights'. A romantic tale starring Norah Jones, Jude Law, Natalie Portman and Rachel Weisz. A troubled young woman travels across America trying to come to terms with being rejected by the guy she loves. A good story, Great cast. Enjoyable film.
