Photoshop Poppies ... ?
Written by Geoff Forster
These Poppies are flowering outside the house.

I thought that I'd got a good shot but the left hand Poppy is out of focus.
So I decided to try to do a "Poppy Rescue" in Photoshop CS5.
Method.
1. Crop middle poppy.
2. Make 2 copies.
3. Copy 1. Increase levels of black in the shadows to destroy shadow detail.
4. Copy 1. Apply faux HDR to increase contrast and blur out background even more, bring out edges.
5. Copy 1. Apply levels layer and reduce red until no red is left in photo. Removes orange halo around poppy.
6. Copy 2. Select the original untouched flower petals and drag them into Copy 1.
7. Copy 1. Position petals from Copy 2 into Copy 1.
8. Apply black vignette. (border effect).
9. Save
Click on the photo to see it properly.

I think I may have gone a little mad but I quite like the result.
