Quick Catchup ...
Written by Geoff Forster
Busy times as the sun gets hot and we change our days to cope with the fierce Spanish summer heat.
Yes, early morning starts are now the way to go. Shutters down all day until early evening to keep inside temperatures as low possible.
Outside midday temperatures are hitting 30°C in the shade and in the sun ... well you have to either be mad or a British tourist.
The donkeys are well. Domingo had an adventure and legged it back to Benarrabá one day when we were walking him. We found him at the house with Rosie. Fingers crossed that she isn't pregnant.
Lily is still not integrating as well as we'd hoped. She's often by herself.
The flowers have been spectacular again this spring with regular downpours keeping them well watered, in fact we still have a few puddles in the campo (countryside) and the arroyos (seasonal streams) are flowing although their volume is diminishing.
A good year for orchids.

The Prickly Pears are fat and green.

My Nikon has been out of action for quite some time. I've been using the smaller point and shoot Kodak. The Nikon was telling me that the memory card was protected. When it wasn't.
We took it to Gibraltar where we had bought it, but they said we would have to send it to Barcelona. I never got round to it and it sat forgotten in its bag in a cupboard for six months. Out of guarantee and annoyed that something so trivial was preventing it from working, we bought some precision screwdrivers and I has a poke around ... a few minutes later it was working. A small metal strip insider the card reader slot was pushing the card too far forward. Pressing it flat again solved the problem.
So I've been enjoying taking shots with my Nikon D80. It seems like I've got a new camera again. So with my interest in photography rekindled, blogs may be appearing at more frequent intervals.
Lots of trips to Gibraltar.

We enjoyed the Gibraltar Spring Art exhibition.
This painting is very clever. If you click on it to enlarge it, you'll see that there are lots of photographs (memories?) around the old ladies face.

Roadside Fennel.

A couple of shots of Benarrabá
This is Sophie our beautiful three-legged Siamese.

A Blue Tit nesting in a small Almond tree near friends John & Chris' front door. It must be a good year they are bringing up a second brood.
Finally back in the campo and a flower very like Fennel but taller, the spectacular Giant Thapsia.
We've been working hard on our websites building visitor numbers up with regular updates and quality video content.

Hi, Geoff. Great to see you back again. Beautiful photos as usual. Congratulations for your “new” camera! I see you’re making a good use of it! Hope to meet you next time I’m in Benarrabá. Remember those beers I told you about?
Hi Joaquín,
Thanks I’m having fun …
put them on ice …
Geoff
Glad the cam is back up and running. At least I know where to bring mine when it goes wrong :-) xx
Hope you are both well, animals too.
