Sunshine After The Rain
Written by Geoff Forster
Following the wettest winter on record we've had a few sunny days to remind us what the weather is usually like.
Lily lamb is getting really big. She's bigger than Sally our Border collie and is fast catching up Jake. She'll be three months in April and we're looking forward to putting her with Dolly. She's still a beautiful animal but cleaning up after a large lamb is a full time job.
You put a couple of pints of milk in one end and an endless stream of droppings falls from the other end.
She shakes her tail and its like a fruit machine paying out the jackpot. Except you win every ten minutes and its a guaranteed payout.
Another downside is that sheep aren't very hygiene conscious and get a bit smelly after a few weeks.
She's made us laugh many times, so all in all a positive but time-consuming experience.
We're still walking to the donkeys. A large crack appeared on the mountain trail we used to drive along. It looks like the whole hillside is slipping. People are still driving along in four-wheel drives but we're not risking it. A JCB has cleared a path but we know there's a massive 20 metre crack in the road, although it has now been cosmetically filled.
One good thing is that I've lost a lot of weight and feel fit.
Here are a few photos from a recent walk.
