Wednesday November 12th 2008 - 50th Birthday - Gibraltar - Party
08:00 - We're off to La Linea and then Gibraltar. We've got a busy day planned, we need a few bits and pieces from different shops.
10:30 - We're in La Linea to buy a piece of glass. It's to replace one that has a hairline crack in it, in our balcony door. We sort out te glass and go for a huge steak sandwich and coffee.
11:30 - We cross into Gibraltar. More shopping.
This is Main Street.

More shopping. However things were about to get better. A refreshing pint of 'Old Speckled Hen' in The Clipper.
15:00 - Back into Spain ... more shopping in La Linea, this time Carrefours for the fattest piece of prime steak you've ever seen.
16:00 - We're on our way home. We pass Casares.

17:30 - Back in Benarrabá we unpack and go to see Rosie and Chico in the campo.
19:00 - All the animals are fed, walked and watered. I make a few phone calls to family to say thanks for cards & pressies.
290:00 - Time for our steak, washed down with a stunning Rioja Gran Reserva 2001.

The steak and wine were beautiful. I must thank Jane who is so thoughtful, she produced beautifully wrapped little presents throughout the day. Finishing off with a surprise birthday cake.

Hope you had a good birthday Geoff, 50 is a big un.
I have 13 months to go.
and neither of us look a day older than 35, who’d believe it …
