Wednesday October 29th 2008 - Campo Border Collie Walk - Puffball & Doom
08:00 - Up later, Jane's off today.
It's a beautiful clear day, but the air is a lot fresher.
09:00 - I make a couple of posts on our Gibraltar website.
12:00 - Jane's been cleaning.
We plan to walk to see Rosie and Chico with the dogs this afternnon.
13:00 - We set off. The dogs always get over excited when they see our boots being put on. They love going for long walks. Ferdy is fourteen now. He does well keeping going. I considered leaving him at home but I keep him on the lead all the way which minimises the distance he walks. The other two walk twice as far as us, running back and forth.
We were out for around two and a half hours.
The donkeys are well. It was a beautiful afternoon to be out in the campo.
We found more mushrooms.
Photos include five of the Genal Valley pueblos.
Benarrabá below.

Genalguacil

Genalguacil

Genalguacil through a Chumbo (Prickly Pear Cactus)

Genalguacil (just). The Genal valley is stunning.

Jane keeps an eye on the verge for mushrooms.

Alpandeire.

Algatocin

Jubrique

Algatocin and a Strawberry Tree (Arbutus unedo L.) known locally as madroño.

15:30 - Back home we sort out the cats, dogs and Domingo our male donkey. Then we put a casserole in the oven.
We watch the end of 'Puffball'.
18:00 - The casserole of pork pieces, local campo mushrooms and potatoes, carrots, onions, with a little Acacia flower honey, half a freshly squeezed orange and a squirt of vinegar. Beautiful.
20:00 - We start to watch 'Doom' starring Dwayne Johnson (The Rock - wrestler), Karl Urban ... John Grimm and Rosamund Pike
Based on the video game. It's actually good, if you like sci-fi shoot'em ups.
22:00 - I watched the second half of Arsenal v Tottenham Hotspur it finished 4-4.
A really good game.
