Gardens: We entered the Alhambra grounds and found ourselves in a lovely Cyprus Grove.
Across this narrow gulley of the "Cuesta del Rey Chico"
The 'Secano' Archaeological Walk, is a walk through clipped Cyprus hedges and arches designed in the 1930's to allow views of the archaeological remains of the area.
The building with the tower is the Convento de San Francisco.

The remains of the Palacio de Abencerrajes
Next you walk down the Calle Real which was the principle street of the Medina. There are a number of tourist shops here with books, postcards, wall tiles etc.

One of the Ionic doorways on the south side of the renaissance Charles V Palace.
Built by the Christian King by taxing the Mouriscos, their rebellion in 1568 effectively stopped work.
The building is a circle inscribed by a square. Representing earth and heaven, unique in Spain possibly copied from Italy.
As you can see the roof was never put on!
To the upper tiers.
