Júzcar
Written by Geoff Forster
Júzcar: Just off the MA-515 road is the pueblo of Júzcar. The town is stretched out across the hillside.
This is a fountain/water feature. The water comes off the hillside, through a strange tunnel under the road, down another hillside and ends up coming out of a pipe at the side of this concrete block with a tiled plaque on it.

We were quite hungry now and getting very tired, this was the fourth pueblo we had visited this day and we had spent an hour in each walking around. The sun was beating down on Júzcar. A hen was running up the street just ahead of us, an escapee from someones henhouse. We followed it, it was moving fast.
The hen ran off up the street onto an area of wasteground where it was photographed.
Although I'm not so sure it's the same hen ... this one looks a little meatier.
We headed for a venta for comida (afternoon meal), Jane had chicken! Júzcar was a relief after Faraján, the streets were prettier, the food in the venta was good and value for money.

We will return to Júzcar, but I'm not sure that I'll be ordering the chicken!
